WHAT IS THE TYPICAL FLOW OF THE BIRTHDAY PARTY?

We recommend you arrive about 15 minutes prior to the start of your party. This will allow you to meet with your party host and get access to your space in the Party Zone. We build a 30 minute buffer between parties, so please be advised the party before you may still be exiting.

Each Birthday Party Package starts with 25-30 minutes in the Party Zone before the first splash time. This allows all party guests to arrive, confirm waivers are on file and get wristbands. During this time party guests are welcome to enjoy the lawn games in the Party Zone, swim, check out the playground or volleyball net.

After that, your party will head down to the beach and get VIP Front of the Line access to the Lifejacket Fitting & Safety Orientation. This will take approximately 10-15 minutes. All participants MUST participate in the Safety Orientation. Next up is fun on the WhoaZone or KidsZone – 50 minutes for the Super Birthday Party, 2 consecutive 50 minute sessions for the Ultimate Birthday Party, and 7 consecutive sessions for the Deluxe Birthday Party.

Parents are welcome to hang out in the Party Zone, the beach or swim while the kids are on the WhoaZone. Any parents who wish to accompany a child on the WhoaZone (ages 7+/over 45″) will require a ticket. Tickets can be purchased with the party host (based upon availability) at the group rate of $15 for the 1st session & $8 for additional sessions. Parents do not need a ticket to accompany the little ones in the shallow water near the KidsZone (ages 4-7/under 45″). Shaded Seating Rentals are also available on the beach and make a great add-on so parents have close up & comfortable viewing of the all the action during the party!

After WhoaZone time, you have 1 more hour of fun in the Party Zone! This is a great time to open presents, redeem Sweet Treat vouchers, and enjoy food / cake. If you’d like the celebration to last longer, additional time is available to purchase in the Party Zone at the rate of $20 per hour (includes 2 shaded tables). This can be setup in advance when booking or in person, based upon availability. You are also welcome to move out of the Party Zone and grab a spot on the beach to continue the fun.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE SWEET TREAT & COMBO MEAL VOUCHERS?

Sweet Treat Vouchers are valid for one large soft serve or slushie. These are $4 and are included with the Super, Ultimate and Deluxe Birthday Party Packages and can be added to any custom package.

Combo Meal Vouchers are valid for choice of one hot item (hotdog, hamburger, cheeseburger, pretzel & cheese, nachos, Uncrustable), one side item (chips, trail mix, applesauce, fruit gummies, granola bar), and one bottled beverage (water, soda, sports drink). These are $10 and are included with the Deluxe Birthday Party Package and can be added to the Super, Ultimate and any custom packages.
DO YOU HAVE PLACES TO PURCHASE FOOD & BEVERAGE AT THE PARK? CAN I BRING MY OWN?

YES! We have a SnackZone Concessions & Beach Store located in the main building, adjacent to the restrooms & ticketing. We offer hot food: hot dogs, burgers, pretzels, nachos, and snacks, soft serve ice cream, slushies, ice cream bars, cold beverages and much more!

You are also welcome to bring your own coolers, grills, food & non-alcoholic drinks to the beach, public grills & picnic tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. Forget something? Stop by the SnackZone for supplies like charcoal, tongs & more.

Please be advised, no food or drink is permitted on the WhoaZone aqua park.
HOW DO THE DIGITAL INVITATIONS WORK?

Once your deposit is received, you will want to setup an online account. You will then be able to write a message to your guests and email or text them a link to RSVP & sign a waiver. Since all participants must have a waiver on file, this makes tracking your guests easy for you and us. You will receive an email each time someone RSVPs. All waivers signed with your Digital Invitation link will automatically attach to your booking, making check in a smooth process. If someone forgets to RSVP or sign a waiver, this can be done in person on party day, if needed.

WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY GUESTS WILL RSVP YES?

All Birthday Party Packages are based upon 10 guests (including the birthday person), so we recommend starting with at least 10. You can book a package and then if you find that more RSVPs are coming back YES, you can add additional guests. A party host will call you about 3 weeks before party day to answer questions and review day-of logistics, at this time we will attempt to firm up headcount as best as possible and review signed waivers. The remaining balance (after deposit) is due 2 weeks before your party, so ideally we have a solid headcount by this time.

We do understand late RSVPs come in and/or things come up and not everyone can make it. As long as we’ve got availability and you stay above the package minimum of 10 guests, we are happy to adjust up until party start time. Your party host can help collect any outstanding balance for day-of additions or assist with processing a refund to a WZ gift card credit for any day-of cancellations. All refunds are subject to manager approval.

Note: Only those participating on the WhoaZone or KidsZone course need a ticket. Parents or siblings there to hang out or swim do not need a ticket.
HOW DOES PARKING WORK FOR PARTIES?

A Michigan Recreation Passport is required to a park a vehicle in the Bald Mountain Rec Area. The cost is $20 cash at the DNR toll booth and the passport is valid until your tag renews. Out of state vehicles are able to purchase a day pass for $12.

Many guests who host events with us tend to find that many of the invitees already have the MI Recreation Passport.
HOW OLD DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO BE TO ENTER THE WHOAZONE?
For the WhoaZone aqua park, you must be at least 7 years old and 45” in height to participate on the floating obstacle course.

For the KidsZone, you must be between the ages of 4 years old and 7 years old to participate on the floating obstacle course. The height requirement for the KidsZone is between 39” and 48″ in height to participate. (Parents may accompany children around the KidsZone without a ticket, but are not permitted to play on the KidsZone.)
DOES THE PARK EVER CLOSE FOR BAD WEATHER?

Safety is of the utmost importance to WhoaZone so we will close when the beach is closed due to inclement weather or when conditions are deemed unsafe due to high winds and/or rough surf. Our goal is to help you celebrate at WhoaZone, so our first we would attempt to reschedule your party, however we understand you may wish to instead celebrate somewhere else if impacted by weather on the special day. We recommend adding Ticket Insurance to your party for $4.99 (in total, not per person).

Ticket Insurance allows you to protect your purchase and receive a full refund (minus the cost of insurance) for cancellations at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled party time or if WhoaZone has an unplanned closure. If you cancel within 24 hours or do not attend your scheduled party, you will receive a WhoaZone gift card credit for the amount paid.
DO PARTICIPANTS NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM?
ARE LIFE JACKETS PROVIDED? CAN I BRING MY OWN LIFEJACKET?

All guests must wear a WhoaZone issued US Coast Guard certified lifejacket. Available in sizes Child through Adult 3XL, these are mandatory for all WhoaZone or KidsZone participants. If a guest is too small or too large for a WhoaZone lifejacket, they will not be able to participate and a refund will be issued.

You can provide your own USCG certified lifejacket to wear. The life jacket will be inspected by a WhoaZone team member to ensure compliance and proper fit. WhoaZone has the right to refuse any personal lifejacket and require a WhoaZone issued lifejacket for access to the WhoaZone aqua park.
IS THERE SHADE AVAILABLE ON THE BEACH?

Lower Lake Trout Beach offers some areas of natural shade around the park. Picnic tables & shady spots in the grass are available on a first come, first served basis.

The Party Zone includes a total of 6 shaded picnic tables – 2 reserved per party for up to 20 guests each.

WhoaZone offers shaded seating rentals on the beach, available online and in person for your convenience!

You are welcome to bring your own chairs, umbrellas & canopies.
